Avène XeraCalm A.D Ultra-Rich Cleansing Bar is a gentle, daily, syndet-based cleanser that effectively combats severe dryness, flakiness, and itching associated with eczema/atopic dermatitis. Suitable for frequent hand washing, lessening dryness. Suitable for infants, children, and adults on both the face and body.
Key ingredients include the unique I-Modulia, a biotechnological innovation developed by Pierre Fabre Laboratories after 12 years of research; reduces itching sensations, soothes discomfort due to skin hyperreactivity and allows the skin to protect itself once again. Evening Primrose Oil restores and nourishes the natural skin moisture barrier. Rich in the signature Avène Thermal Spring Water known for its soothing and anti-irritating properties. Fragrance-free. Dr Webster’s Recommendation: With a pH of 6.5 this bar soap will help preserve the skin’s protective acid mantle. This, unlike many supermarket brands that generally have a much higher pH, can adversely affect the barrier function of the skin causing dryness, sensitivity and ultimately an irritant contact dermatitis. Formulated with active ingredients selected for their purity, tolerance, and efficacy, the skin is nourished, the skin barrier is protected against the drying effects of water and dryness and itching is reduced. I also recommend that you use an unfragranced hand cream a few times a day and also overnight to keep your hands moisturised if you are washing them more regularly than usual Ideal for home or family use.
