La Roche-Posay Anthelios Pigmentation SPF50+ is non-perfumed, medium tinted cream which has been specially formulated for skin that is prone to ultraviolet and visible light-induced hyperpigmentation. It also helps to prevent and reduce hyperpigmentation that is caused by sun exposure. Suitable for all skin types and especially those with sensitive skins.
Key ingredients include Procerad™, a patented ceramide that helps to suppress brown spots due to the excessive production of melanin. It also helps to clarify and promote an even skin tone. Optimal SPF 50+ protection reinforced against UVA rays (nearly twice stricter than the European recommendation on suncare products) is offered by XL Protect technology, based on a patented and photostable filtering system. Antioxidants help to protect against pollution and infrared damage. Tinted pigments prevent visible light-induced hyperpigmentation. Shea Butter softens the skin and maintains moisture without greasiness. La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water a real wonder of nature, which reduces sensitivity with its soothing, antioxidant properties due to its unique Selenium content – a mineral that protects the cellular metabolism. Melt-in-texture. Non-comedogenic. Hypoallergenic. No white residue. Water resistant. Developed in collaboration with Dermatologists.
Dr. Webster’s Recommendation: It is a well-known fact the ultraviolet radiation causes photo-ageing and pigmentation. Recent clinical studies now show that exposure to visible light has a significant impact on those with darker skin types and who are already at risk of pigmentation. When exposed to visible light there are definite histological and pigmentary changes noted in the skin. It is therefore vitally important to use a very high broad-spectrum sunscreen when at risk of pigmentation.
