Key ingredients include Lactic Acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and sugars. It is part of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and moisturises the skin. Phenylethyl Resorcinol is an antioxidant derived from Resorcinol that promotes an even skin tone. Azelaic Acid, helps to control inflammation which can cause pigmentation and it promotes a clear complexion and even skin tone. Kojic Acid helps promote an even skin tone. Glutathione and Silybin are potent antioxidants that help to reduce hyperpigmentation.
Dr. Webster’s Recommendation: PCA Skin Pigment Gel® HQ Free is a really effective combination of ingredients to address pigment issues like discolouration on the skin, which includes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Azelaic acid is a favourite ingredient of mine as it has so many benefits on the skin including its anti-inflammatory action which helps to reduce PIH.
