Description Summary How to use Key Ingredients Works Well With

Peace Silk® Eye Mask is a high-quality, luxurious pure silk eye mask that is ethically and sustainably manufactured in both India & South Africa. Suitable for all skin and hair types. Travel box included.

Peace Silk, also known as Ahimsa or Non-violent Silk is organically certified (GOTS Certification). It is mostly created by the Bombyx Mori Moth, which generally feeds on mulberry leaves thus making it mostly a type of Mulberry Silk. The unique silk used in this Peace Silk® Eye Mask is grown in India where the Indian culture celebrates Ahimsa & Non-Violence. With the production of traditional silk, the silkworm is boiled alive but with Peace Silk® the top of the cocoon is gently cut open to allow the developing moth to escape and to finish its natural lifecycle outside of the cocoon. It is a very peaceful, non-violent way of harvesting silk and a real wonder of nature.

Peace Silk Benefits:

  • Prevents wrinkles and sleep lines due to reduced friction between the silk and the skin.
  • It is the same pH level as the skin (slightly acidic) thus not interfering with the skin’s protective acid mantle.
  • It absorbs less moisture than cotton and other fabrics and maintains the natural moisture and oils in your skin as well as any night creams that are applied.
  • It has a luxurious feel – soft and silky, cherishing your skin as you sleep – a beautiful, natural skin treatment.
  • It is hypoallergenic and prevents house dust mites from entering through the pillowcase due to the tight weave. It also contains sericin, a protein that prevents the growth of mites and moulds.
  • It does not contain any harmful chemicals or dyes and is a natural, organic fabric.
  • The products are eco-friendly as they are biodegradable and compostable.
  • It provides good value for such a luxurious, limited edition beauty product. It is a scarce resource that makes it a worthwhile investment for your skin.
  • Peace Silk® products are endorsed by our Dermatologist, Dr Ian Webster, as being skin and hair-friendly.

Dr Webster’s Recommendation: My interest in silk and how it was produced was piqued when as a Dermatologist, I became aware of the benefits of silk to the skin and hair. Different types of Ahimsa silk can have a rough, non-skin friendly texture but Peace Silk® is refined and gentle on the skin and hair. The charmeuse weave gives it a soft, natural, luxurious texture, making it perfect for pillowcases and eye masks. While the silk is grown in India, this product is made locally by a textile manufacturer in Cape Town, South Africa.

Note: This eye mask is completely natural and undyed. It is indicated as a beauty product to help reduce friction around the eye area as you sleep. As it is light in colour and texture, it is not a mask that will fully block out light in an undarkened room.

  • Silk is fairly strong and durable but we recommend treating it delicately so that it gives you many years of use.
  • Hand wash in warm water - maximum temperature 30ºC.
  • Use a liquid detergent for delicates. Do not use bleach.
  • Dry out of direct sunlight.
  • Do not tumble dry or iron.
  • Enjoy this beautiful, natural and luxurious wonder of nature!
